Our Story
Old World Coffee began with a simple question: what if coffee could be the antidote to chaos? Travel showed Chris Garrison how cafés are cultural hubs that shape a town, and back home he saw a gap. In 2011, that spark became a calling—to build spaces where people could slow down, drink up, and feel known, while honoring the farmers who make it possible. From our first cappuccino at a wedding to today’s cafés and roastery, we’ve grown by putting hospitality and excellence first, connecting Northern Nevada to intentional coffee and the hands that grow it. Curiosity Ignited.
Traveling through great café towns, Chris notices what’s missing in Northern Nevada’s coffee culture and begins sketching Old World.
Catering Launched.
We bring coffee (and a lot of fun) to weddings, offices, and community events across the region.
Midtown Café Opens.
Our first café debuts with the area’s first Modbar, introducing a new, more connected way to serve espresso.
Roasting In‑House.
We launch our roasting facility to bring the craft home and champion the work of our farm partners.
Carson City Opens.
We carry the Old World experience south, serving Carson City with warm hospitality and thoughtfully sourced coffee.
Northwest Reno Roastery Café.
A beautiful new café opens with our roastery inside, bringing the roasting process into full view for our guests.
Sierra Medical Center Location.
We open at Sierra Medical Center, offering a calm, quality cup for patients, staff, families, and neighbors.
Ten Years of Old World.
We celebrate a decade with the release of Legacy, a commemorative blend honoring the people and partnerships behind every cup.
Continuing On.
We keep building—with better coffees, deeper farm relationships, and welcoming spaces—so Northern Nevada always has a place to Slow Down, Drink Up.
